What you get after a visit

When you end a visit, Kin gives you a written summary of the conversation and a list of next steps. It doesn't give you the audio or a word-for-word transcript.

Can I listen to or download my recording?

No. Kin uses the recording to build your summary, and there's no way to play the recording back or download it in the app.

If you'd rather hear your summary than read it, tap the play button on any section. See Listening to your summary.

Can I get a transcript of what was said?

No. Kin doesn't give you a word-for-word transcript. For more detail on what was said, scroll to Topics in your visit summary. Each topic covers one subject from the conversation in more depth than the highlights at the top.

Looking for something specific? Tap Ask Kin and ask about the visit. See Using Ask Kin.

What's in a summary?

  • What to know, at the top: the most important points from the visit.
  • Topics: each subject that came up, in detail.
  • Next steps: what to do after the visit, with due dates where your doctor gave one. See Managing your next steps.

You can also add your own notes, photos, and documents to any visit. See Adding notes, photos, and documents.

Why a summary instead of the recording?

A recording puts the work back on you. To find the one thing you needed, you'd have to sit through the whole visit again. The summary pulls out what was discussed and what you need to do, and you can search it, share it, and print it.

I need to send the visit to someone else

Share the summary using the Share button on the visit, or print or export it. See Sharing a visit summary and Printing or exporting a summary.

Your doctor's office doesn't receive your Kin summaries. If you want your doctor to have one, you can share it with them yourself.

For how Kin stores and protects your recordings and summaries, see How Kin protects your data.
