Adding notes, photos, and documents

Kin keeps your notes, photos, and documents alongside your visits, so everything for one person lives in one place.

Where can I add things?

There are two places:

  • From the Records tab, tap Add a note, photo, or file at the top. You can type a note, attach a photo or file, or record audio yourself.
  • On a specific visit, open the visit and use the Notes field for typed notes, or the Attachments section for photos and files.

What can I attach?

When you add an attachment you'll see these options:

  • Camera — take a photo right then
  • Photos — choose from your photo library
  • Files — choose a document from your phone
  • Record — record audio yourself (Records tab only)

Kin accepts photos (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, GIF), PDFs, CSV and plain text files, and audio files. If a file is too big, Kin will tell you the size limit.

Can I add my lab results or medical records?

Yes. Take a photo of them, or attach a PDF you already have. They'll show up in that person's Records timeline next to their visits.

One thing to know: the Camera option takes one photo at a time. For a multi-page document, use your phone's own scanning app to make a PDF first, then attach it with Files.

How do I record audio myself?

From the Records tab, tap Add a note, photo, or file, then tap Record. Tap Stop when you're finished. It saves as "Recording" with the time.

This is a recording you make yourself. It's separate from recording a visit, and Kin doesn't turn it into a visit summary.

Can I add things to someone else's records?

Only if you manage their profile. If you have view-only access, you'll see View only and won't be able to add notes or attachments.

Can I edit a note after I save it?

No. A standalone note you add from the Records tab can't be edited after you leave its composer. To correct it, open the note in Records, tap Delete note, then add a new note with the corrected text. You need to manage that profile to delete the note or add a replacement.
