Giving a dependent their own Kin account
If you manage Kin for someone, you can hand their profile over so they log in with their own phone number.
Who can do this?
You need to manage the person's profile on your phone. Pet profiles can't be handed over.
How do I set it up?
Tap your name at the top of the Home tab, then Account settings → Sharing. Open the person and tap Transfer account to [name]. Kin walks you through what happens, then asks for their mobile number. Pick it from your contacts or type it in, check it, and tap Text [name] the link. Your Messages app opens with the text written for you, and Kin is added to the thread so it can help them log in. Press Send.
If Kin says the number already has a Kin account, ask the person to add you as a follower instead.
What happens next?
They tap the link, download Kin, and log in with that number. Kin asks them to confirm "Yes, I'm [name]." Once they log in, the profile becomes their account, and you get a notification.
What changes for me?
You keep full access unless the recipient revokes it. You can still add visits, record, write notes, and share, as before. Visits they record on their own stay private unless they share them with you. They can change or remove your access at any time.
The link didn't work
A login link lasts 7 days. If it expires, open the person in Sharing and tap Send a new link. If the text reached the wrong person, tap Change login number and send again. To stop the handoff before they log in, tap Cancel login setup. The link stops working and the profile stays on your Kin.
Can I undo it?
No. Once they log in, it's their account.
