What is Kin?
Kin is your intelligent companion for doctor's visits. Kin listens during the appointment and turns the conversation into a clear summary: what was discussed and what to do next.
Who is Kin for?
Kin is for anyone who wants a clear record of a visit — including pet owners. Whether it's your own doctor's appointment or your dog's checkup, Kin helps you remember what was said and what to do next.
How much does Kin cost?
Kin is completely free.
How does Kin work?
During your visit, Kin records the conversation, then processes it into a summary of the visit and next steps. You can also jot down questions ahead of time so you don't forget them in the moment.
Kin helps you keep all of this in one place, so you're not relying on memory or a rushed note scribbled on the way out the door. You can share visit summaries with a spouse, adult child, or anyone else who helps you manage your care.
Can I use Kin to manage someone else's doctor visits?
If you're helping a parent, partner, or child manage their health, they can share their visit details with you. That means you don't have to rely on a hurried recap after the appointment — you can see what the doctor actually said and what to do next, even if you weren't in the room.
Does Kin send messages through a provider's patient portal?
No. Kin doesn't send messages or visit information through your provider's patient portal. Your provider doesn't receive a Kin summary unless you choose to share it. To share a summary, open the visit and tap Share. See Sharing a visit summary.
Do I get the recording or a transcript?
No. Kin uses your recording to build your summary. You can't play the recording back or read a word-for-word transcript in the app, and summaries are the only thing you can share. See What you get after a visit.
Is my data private?
Your recordings and summaries are encrypted and private by default. Only you, and anyone you share a visit with, can see its contents.
