Finding your way around Kin

Kin has three tabs along the bottom of the screen, plus a round record button.

The tabs

  • Home — the people in your Kin and your upcoming visits. It's where you add a visit.
  • To-do — every task from every visit, for everyone you care for. Open a task and Kin shows you which visit it came from.
  • Records — one person's full timeline: visits, notes, and any photos or documents you've added.

How do I switch between people?

Tap your name at the top of the Home tab. Whoever you pick stays selected as you move between Home, To-do, and Records.

Where is the record button?

It's the round button to the right of the tabs, at the bottom of the screen. Tap it to start recording a visit.

What is the "Good to know" card?

It's a card on your Home tab with a few quick facts about recording, and a link that says Need help explaining Kin? Tap that and Ask Kin opens with wording you can use with your provider.

The card shows until your first summary is ready, then it goes away. You can also close it with the X in the corner, which hides it on that phone.

Where is Ask Kin?

Ask Kin sits just above the tabs at the bottom of the screen. The suggestion it shows changes every few seconds. Tap it to open a chat.

Where are Settings?

Tap your name at the top of the Home tab, then Account settings. Everything you'd look for lives there:

  • Edit profile, your name and details
  • Language, the language Kin uses
  • Sharing, who can see your care records and whose records you can see. Open it for People you share with, People sharing with you, and any sharing requests waiting for you.
  • Refer a friend, send someone a link to try Kin
  • Push notifications, turn reminders and updates on or off
  • Add from calendar, connect a calendar so visits are added automatically. Once it's on, Ignored events and Advanced sync settings appear underneath.
  • Help, how Kin works, something to show your provider, and support
  • Refresh data, download a fresh copy of your visits and notes
  • Terms of use and Privacy notice, Kin's legal documents
  • Sign out and Delete account, leave Kin on this device, or remove your account entirely

The version of Kin you have is shown at the bottom of the screen.

How do I contact support?
