Adding Kin to a group text
Add Kin's number, (628) 316-7060, to a group text with family and ask it questions there. It works in iMessage groups, SMS groups, and groups that mix iPhone and Android.
When does Kin reply?
When someone asks Kin something or asks it to do something. Kin also steps in when someone asks the group a question it can answer, about someone's visits, their care, or how to use Kin.
Who sees Kin's replies?
Everyone in the group. Kin only shares what everyone there is allowed to see. See What Kin shares in a group text.
Does everyone in the group need Kin?
No. Anyone can ask Kin how Kin works. To ask about someone's visits, they need to follow that person. If they later download Kin and sign in with the number they text from, their account is already there.
How do I stop Kin?
Anyone in the group can reply STOP. Kin goes quiet in that group until someone replies START. Your one-to-one texts with Kin aren't affected.
Is there anything Kin can't do in a group?
You still record visits in the app.
Can I add a follower by text?
Yes. Tell Kin who to add and whether they should be an Admin or a Viewer. Kin will guide you through adding them in the text thread.
Can I approve a follow request by text?
Yes. When someone asks to follow you, Kin may text you. Reply yes to make them a viewer, or tell Kin to make them an admin. Reply no to decline.
How do I remove someone as a follower?
In the app, under Account settings → Sharing.
